BREAKING: America Demands Jews Be Given Jerusalem; Vetoes Rest of the World

The US has vetoed the draft resolution of the UN Security Council on the status of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. All other 14 member-countries voted for the resolution. The text, tabled by Egypt reads that "the recent decisions regarding the status of Jerusalem have no legal effect".
Nikki Haley, the US Ambassador to the UN: "The exercise of the veto is not something the US does often. We haven't done it in more than six years. We do it with no joy, but we do it with no reluctance. This veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of America's role in the Middle East peace process. It's not a source of embarrassment for us. It should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council. Again, these positions are fully consistent with the previous Security Council resolutions."
Palestinian Ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour said that the resolution would be assessed by the General Assembly. He also mentioned that several Arabic states had sent a letter to the UN Secretary General asking him to conduct an emergency session.
