Media Discrimination: Moscow Might Respond to Washington Symmetrically

Mutuality principles towards US media aren't excluded in the Kremlin. Here's what the President's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov said. "Much of our media is under unprecedented pressure that really makes it hard for our media to work in several western countries, particularly in the US. We believe this defies Freedom of Speech, the freedom for the media to work. We hope such discrimination towards our media, particularly RT and Sputnik in the US, won't be unnoticed by proper international organizations. It's their job to control the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Media. Obviously, in the event of future discrimination, future violation of our media's rights, for their free actions, we can't exclude our actions, based on mutuality principles".
Pressure on the media isn't the only example of how Russian companies are treated by the US. Since September, Department of Homeland Security makes all government entities in the country stop purchasing any products from Kaspersky Lab. First attempts to put pressure on this company began under Obama's administration.
Anton Shingarev, Kaspersky VP: "For the past half a year, in our company, we've noticed a series of publications about us. All these articles have no facts or proof. Journalists constantly refer to anonymous sources. It's hard to guess why this is happening. I think we're involved in this geopolitical game, in geopolitical discrepancies. In our company, we use the strictest standards and rules for safety of our source code, to exclude even the slightest integration a double function, of hidden code into our source code. If there were any facts in this article, we wouldn't have to speculate, we'd explain why this isn't possible. It's hard to seriously argue with this. We've explained how our product works many times, we've proved it. We're ready to provide the source code for inspection for the US regulators, if there are any problems, if there were any questions. We're sure we're right, we're sure this is simply impossible.
