LIVE: The Last ISIS Stronghold up to Fall to Assad’s Army and Russian ASF
The Syrian army is now preparing to enter Abu Kamal. The last large stronghold of the ISIS terrorists in Syria.

The Syrian army is now preparing to enter Abu Kamal. The last large stronghold of the ISIS terrorists in Syria. The town is under siege, and now terrorists must choose: die or surrender? Live from the outskirts of Abu Kamal our military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubniy is on air.

- Hello Evgeniy. What's going on the front line right now?

- Hello, Ernest. Our camera crew is 2 km from Abu Kamal's streets. It appears that we will soon see how the Syrian army will use the support of Russian Aerospace Forces and military advisers to gain the upper hand against ISIS in Syria. Assault troops from the Syrian army and its allies were able to enter the outskirts of Abu Kamal and gain a foothold.

There's fierce fighting. Army, aviation and artillery are supporting the advancing troops. Cannon artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems are working to take down ISIS targets. The terrorists have been putting up strong resistance. The radicals' bulk strength was defeated on the approach to Abu Kamal. But the terrorists have built up their defense deep into the city. They are now firing bullets and using guided anti-tank missiles and mortars to hinder the troops in order to gain a foothold in the town and start a clearing operation. The assault troops couldn't walk through the streets of Abu Kama. We know the fighters of pseudo-caliphate have erected barricades to slow the Syrian army's armored vehicles. We are watching the assault of the last ISIS stronghold in Syria.

- Thank you, Evgeniy. Please, be careful.

That was our correspondent Evgeniy Poddubniy, live from Syria, with an update on the assault of the last ISIS stronghold in Abu Kamal.
