Tonight, millions of people on all continents celebrate Christmas in the Gregorian calendar. These are Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox, and representatives of other Christian denominations.

Thousands of pilgrims gathered in Bethlehem, where, according to the Gospel, Jesus Christ was born. Even more religious people came to the Vatican. There, the Christmas Mass of the Pope of Rome Francis will be held. Around noon, he will deliver his traditional message Urbi et Orbi and congratulate believers in dozens of languages.

Christmas in the Gregorian calendar is celebrated in Russia as well. In the main Catholic cathedral of Moscow, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, several thousand people gathered for the divine service. The official service in Russian was conducted by Archbishop Paolo Pezzi.

Patriarch Kirill congratulated the Pope, the head of the Anglican church, representatives of the Lutheran and other churches and communities who celebrate Christmas.
