According to the Senior Adviser of the Russian Mission to the UN, Maksim Musikhin the visits were organized to check the condition of the buildings to make sure there were no potential emergencies. However, the US Office of Foreign Missions rejected every request. Musikhin described their actions as flat-out outrageous.
