A secret archive of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco fell into the hands of the American authorities The USA took it from the building to give it to the Russian Embassy in Washington, says the official statement on the website of the Russian Embassy in the USA.

Thus, the American authorities have violated the international law, as such documents are immune and accessible only to the diplomats of the respective state. The Russian Embassy staff tried to take the archive by themselves, but they were never let in the building, despite multiple protests of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Washington's officially neglecting international law, our diplomatic and consular facilities and properties has made it possible to treat the US missions to Russia in the same way, proceeding from the principle of reciprocity, on which diplomatic relations are based.

On September 2, the USA demanded Moscow to close 3 diplomatic facilities on the American territory, and on October 10, Russian flags were removed from these buildings.
