World Left Unite in Moscow to Celebrate 100th Anniversary of October Revolution in Russia

Today is the 100th anniversary of one of the most important events in Russian history. The Russian Revolution happened exactly on this day, 100 years ago. It not only completely changed our country but also influenced the development of the world. Communists from all over the world came to Moscow to celebrate the jubilee.
Gennady Zyuganov announced here that all the Party's organizations have nominated him to run for President of Russia. Andrey Grigoriev reports on the global celebration of left-wing forces.
It is a real communist International, a mixture of flags, slogans, styles, races, and languages. In the forefront of the march, you can hear Latin American slogans, and immediately on the left wing, an echo in Chinese is heard.
Representatives of the left forces, i.e. the socialists and communists from the whole world have gathered here. Almost 80 countries are represented with 150 delegations. Many came specifically for the festivities.
"It's very important for me to be here today. The Revolution is a historic event, which showed the possibility to live without capitalism".
It is a mass demonstration with up to 5 000 participants, but very well-organized. There wasn't even a need to close the streets in Moscow. The people marched the whole way from Pushkin Square to Revolution Square on the sidewalk.
"The Revolution gave us all the rights we have — to get an education, to work. It's great!"
A сoncert band is at the forefront, it's followed by revolutionary sailors in the uniforms of that time. Although it's not a historical reconstruction, it is the 100th anniversary of the historic event.
The uprising in Moscow wasn't as lightning fast as in then Petrograd. The revolutionary troops marched along the same way as the demonstrators today, but they captured the Kremlin defended by the junkers only after a week, and as a result of severe street fighting and artillery fire that even stopped the work of the famous clock on the Spasskaya tower.
In the documentaries, the clock shows 13:05, the time when a shell hit the clock. Broken house windows and demolished orthodox cathedrals inside the Kremlin are considered by many historians to be the beginning of the civil war. After 100 years the revolutionary ideas, on the contrary, unite many people.
Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman, Russian Communist Party: "I officially declare that we will do everything it takes for the red flag to victoriously wave above Russia again".
Gennady Zyuganov was asked if he was going to take part in the presidential elections: «We will announce the specific plans later. We will participate with a strong team».
- Are you offering your candidacy?
Gennady Zyuganov: "I am the leader of the movement. I was nominated by all its organizations".
Large-scale festivities are not only taking place in Moscow, but in cities all over Russia. They are organized by the Communist party, which, in essence, is the successor of the party that organized the Revolution 100 years ago. Andrey Grigoriev, Maxim Shepilov, Margarita Avoyan, Vesti.
