Putin Сomments On How Western Sanctions Gave Boost to Russian Industries

Inflation, mortgage, social family support, the liberalization of business law, and even meteoroid protection — these are the topics, which Vladimir Putin has discussed with the staff of Chelyabinsk Compressor Plant today.
During his visit to Chelyabinsk, the President has come to the plant and had a talk with the employees.
Not so long ago, such compressor units, which a necessary for the processing of natural or associated gas used to be purchased in Germany or Italy. Now, they are made in Chelyabinsk. The plant is developing its own technology and production, which brings it to a new level.
The plant is relatively young for Chelyabinsk. Here, some plants are older than 100 years. This company supplies its product to almost all branches of industry. For example, it makes compressors for coal mines, where compressed air is the only energy source, or braking systems for Lastochka trains, which are used at Moscow Central Circle.
- "90% of locomotives in our country are equipped with our mechanisms."
Vladimir Putin: "What about the components?"
- "These ones are 20% German, but we make the rest 80%."
The director has to speak louder than machines while walking the president around the new workshop. They've been talking about perspective orders, including Mexico and Venezuela, and import substitution. These are not the only things that interest the workers. They’ve been also asking about young family support program and mortgage rates.
"Are you planning to reduce the rates?"
Vladimir Putin: "Yes, we are. Just look, we are expecting the inflation to be reduced. The expected inflation rate is from 2.5% to 2.7%. At first, we estimated that as much as 4%. This is the critical factor of the lowering of the Central Bank key rate. This usually results in cheaper credits of commercial banks, including Sberbank".
Maternal capital is also a big support. Vladimir is a mechanic. He is worried that he might miss the chance to get it: "My wife says, we should have the second child."
Vladimir Putin: "She's right, do what she says. The domain of motherhood and childhood remains a special concern for us. There will be a special federal program".
