Krasnodar Prepares to Woo Tourists and Fans With Culinary Delights During World Cup in Russia

More than 2.5 million fans and tourists from all over the world will arrive in the Krasnodar Region for the World Cup. Special programs have already been developed for them. A special soccer menu even appeared in restaurants. What other gastronomic delights are attracting guests to Krasnodar, which has been recognized as one of the most creative cities in Russia?
Special report by Anna Sorokina.
This is Krasnaya Street — Krasnodar's main street. Residents and visitors of the city admire the old streets, architecture, and fountains, while foodies get acquainted with another Krasnodar — a gastronomic one. The markets are full of fruits and vegetables from all over the Krasnodar Region. This is the pride of Krasnodar. Such cucumbers and tomatoes are not just beautiful; they have an appetizing scent and taste. This is very important in a modern world of plastic vegetables from hypermarkets.
Daria Tamilova and Daria Shchetinina know everything about where to eat deliciously and interestingly. The journalist and editor opened their own website dedicated to the gastronomic side of Krasnodar.
Daria Shchetinina, journalist: "Of course, we would like people to know where to eat delicious food, where to bring friends and guests. And the main thing is that they should understand that their opinion is important".
The site includes ratings of restaurants and cafes along with stories about farmers, interviews, recipes from famous chefs and much more.
Daria Tomilina, journalist: "Ideally, we would like local restaurateurs to start working with farmers and small producers and buy products from them to make seasonal menus".
The girls plan to bring together consumers, farmers, and restaurateurs, introduce them to each other and debunk the myth of the inaccessibility of farm products in the most fertile region of the country.
Elenika Korelova: "Such a large bowl of salad costs 250 rubles. There's about 500-600 grams here, it's enough for a whole family".
Elenika Korelova, the founder of a Krasnodar network of healthy food bars, talks about a healthy and tasty salad. She believes that the main element of success is local products that she buys from trusted suppliers.
Elenika Korelova: "We don't doubt the quality of our salad. Boiled turkey is also from a local farm. There is a myth that farm turkey is more expensive than store-bought turkey, but it is not true. Here are fresh cucumbers. We make yogurt ourselves; homemade yogurt. It's sugar-free, it's our yeast".
Krasnodar confidently paves the way to the heart of the tourist through the stomach. Young and advanced residents of the city have taken up gastronomic tourism. A rabbit farm was opened in the suburbs. More than 5 thousand rabbits live here.
Lilia Tsiganok, farmer: "We need to provide clean water, clean air, good food and complete sanitation — that's all".
The task is more than just selling meat. The goal of farmers is to remind people that eating in Krasnodar is not just about quenching hunger but experiencing the culture of the warmest and most gastronomically developed region of Russia.
