Vladimir Putin: Russia is Committed to Promoting Security, Being a Force for Stability in the World

Vladimir Putin called the current international situation chaotic, but he expressed hope that the relationship between countries will resume being constructive. Today, the President has accepted diplomatic credentials from 17 ambassadors who have recently arrived in Russia.
Among them are diplomats from Italy, Austria, South Korea, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. The ceremony was held in the Grand Kremlin Palace. Traditionally, it symbolizes the start of a diplomatic career for the new ambassadors to Russia.
The President accepted the credentials for the first time this year. At the end of the ceremony, the head of state made a speech. According to Vladimir Putin, diplomacy's role takes on a special meaning today.
Vladimir Putin: "Today, the role of diplomacy and diplomats takes on a special meaning. The current global situation is rather concerning. The global situation is becoming more and more chaotic. However, we hope that common sense will eventually take over, and international relationships will resume being more constructive. The entire global system will become stable and forward-looking.
Diplomacy covers a wide area of responsibility. Its landmark is the development of optimal decisions that are based on the balance of various interests. Diplomats are urged to promote the collegiate search for answers to large-scale challenges and threats such as terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, organized crime, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and climate change.
When it comes to Russia, it will continue to consistently stand for reinforcing global and regional security and stability and continue to fully comply with its international obligations, while establishing partnerships that are based on a constructive and respectful foundation in accordance with international legal norms and the Charter of the United Nations.
We will promote a positive, forward-looking agenda that will benefit the world while pursuing the development of stable growth as well as humanity's well-being and prosperity".
