Sergey Shoigu's official visit to Southeast Asia ends in Hanoi, Vietnam. As in the two previous cases, the Minister is going to meet the country's leaders and take part in some ceremonies. Sergey Shoigu accepted the invitation from the Socialist Republic. His day started off with negotiations with the Vietnamese Minister of Defense—Ngo Xuan Lich. They discussed the military cooperation between Russia and Vietnam. During the negotiations, they also addressed some international issues.

Sergey Shoigu, Russian Minister of Defense: "Today, two S-400 systems were deployed and began their around the clock duty of providing reliable air defense for our Syrian bases in Khmeimim and Tartus. The systems are unique, and their performance is unrivaled. Some ample proof of this fact is our recently signed contracts for the supply of the S-400 to Turkey, which is a member of NATO. Other countries have already expressed their interest in purchasing the S-400, including the countries of the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Negotiations are being held".

In addition, the program of Shoigu's visit to Hanoi includes a meeting with the President of Vietnam—Tran Dai Quang, and the General Secretary of the Communist Party—Nguyen Phu Trong.

Previously, Sergey Shoigu visited Myanmar and Laos where he also reached certain agreements. The one in Myanmar was especially significant — it simplified the procedures necessary for Russian and Myanmarese military ships to dock in the ports of both countries. They also signed an agreement for the supply of Su-30 aircraft to the Myanmar Air Force.

The Russian Ministry of Defense hopes that soon these jets will form the core of the air force of the country.
