ARSON AND SEARCHES: Vesti.UA HQ Raided and Seized in Ukraine, Documents Seized and Fire Lit!

People were evacuated from the building of the editorial office of the Ukrainian media holding Vesti because of a strong smoke.

The arson followed the searches. In the morning, Ukrainian security forces broke into the office. Journalists were not allowed into the editorial office. Those who tried to break through were stopped by tear gas.

 

The Prosecutor General's Office said that this was an investigation of the corruption case of the ex-minister of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine Alexander Klimenko. However, the prosecutors failed to explain why Vesti office became a target.

As a result of this attack, all the documents and equipment of the office were seized by force. Some management company is now in control of the Vesti office.
