An international project devoted to the memory of Soviet female partisans who fought in the Rodina division during World War II was presented in Moscow. It consisted of women, who were being transferred by the Nazis from Minsk to a concentration camp in France.

In May 1944, 37 prisoners escaped bravely. Later, they fought for the French resistance as a separate military group. It was the only female division.

As part of the international project, a monument to Soviet female partisans will be erected in a small town of Tille.

A movie about them will be made in Russia.

Alexandra Popova, actress: "It's a real feat, people know about it in France, but not in Russia, which is strange. These women, who stayed alive, they were scared to talk about it, it's awful. Today, we must, we have the right to talk about it. I think we must".
