And today, right after the news program "Vesti nedeli", our channel will air the premiere broadcast of yet another documentary: "Miroporyadok 2018". This is a film by Saida Medvedeva, based on Vladimir Solovyov's interviews with Vladimir Putin By the way, over 21 million people have watched this film online. And many quotes by Vladimir Putin from the film have already become catchphrases. For example: "Why do we need such a world where Russia doesn't exist?" That's about our logic of actions in case of an enemy nuclear attack.
Vladimir Putin, president of Russian Federation: "I want to tell you, and I want this to be known in this country and abroad, that our plans for the use, I hope that this will never happen, but theoretically our plans for the use of the so-called second-strike. What does this mean? This means, that the decision to use nuclear weapons can be made only in the event that our missile attack warning system had identified not only the launch of missiles, but had also given an accurate forecast and flight trajectory. And the time of impact of warheads on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is called a retaliatory second-strike. If somebody made a decision to destroy Russia. Then we have a legitimate right to respond. Yes, this will be a global catastrophe for humanity. A global catastrophe for the world. But I, as a Russian citizen, and as the head of the Russian state, want to ask: Why do we need such a world where Russia doesn't exist?"
