Young White Conservative Begs Russia to Stand Strong and Not Lose Soul Like America Has

"Stand up for your faith, stand up for your freedom". An appeal of an American to all Russians. The author's name is Allen Armentrout. He knows what it means to stand one's ground.
The Florida student became a symbol of the US conservative movement. Here, he's standing in front of a statue of a Confederate leader. He's single-handedly protecting General Lee. The bloodthirsty crowd is demanding revenge and oblivion.
It might be unclear, but all this is being done in the name of peace, democracy, and equality. It's important not to mix up who's standing up for human rights, which, now apparently allows the West the exclusive right to bully others. Be it historical memory, family values, religion, political ideals, or child-rearing, one can be attacked for their beliefs.
Anton Podkovenko will tell us how a worldview became a battleground.
- Greetings, Anton.
- Greetings.
- Why is an American telling Russians not to give up?
- Well, because Americans have already given up, bowing to a notorious wave of so-called "tolerance," or their own idea of what that might be. They are even ready to sacrifice historical memory on behalf of it.
After Charlottesville, Allen Armentrout closed his social network accounts because he was being bullied.
"Terrorist, go home!"
"Terrorist, go home!"
Allen almost got beaten up before the police interfered. His current appeal against the background of anti-Russian hysteria looks like a new challenge.
Allen Armentrout: "I'd like to say to the Russian people: Stand for your faith, stand for your freedom, never give up, never lose hope, even in the face of fear, never lose hope, do not betray your values".
Although it might be youthful exuberance to say this, sanctions are an acute issue in America. Not everyone agrees with them.
Andrey Manoylo, Ph.D. in political science: "He probably sees the Russian people, who the US tries to represent as aggressors, as outcasts like himself. He's struggling now, enduring the attacks of those who are trying to erase the last memory of the Confederacy and the heroes of the Civil War by destroying the monuments. He sees the Russian people as his kindred spirits".
Those who oppose the destruction of the monuments are basically trying to protect America's historical legacy, which had different episodes, including slavery in the South. But it doesn't mean the memory should be erased.
In this sense, Russia looks very dignified, for example, in the context of our Soviet past.
Stanislav Byshok, CIS-EMO political analyst: "True American and European conservatives like this guy and they treat Russia with interest and respect because they see Russia not as a geopolitical foe but as a country that values its traditions and history in its various guises".
Armentrout says: "Do not betray your values". What else could shock the young, tradition-minded history enthusiast to make him address the Russian people? Perhaps, the LGBT hysteria, the gay parades in New York, and the legal gay marriages are an example of tolerance taken to the extreme?
Nikita Danyuk, political scientist: "He's not just a Confederate guy. In a short time, he became a symbol, the embodiment of those people who are called "blue collars" in America, the working class. All these people share conservative views, and in this sense, addressing Russia is justified because right now, Russia is the last bulwark of traditional values, and Allen's appeal is understandable".
The false mirror of absurd tolerance distorts the employment policy of some major American companies. For example, Google has a plan — how many men, women, Muslims, Christians, and minorities must be employed. They hire employees regardless of their skills and fire them for gender stereotypes.
Stanislav Byshok: "He's also talking about the so-called 'dictatorship of the minority.' It's when recognizing ethnic, gender, and other minorities is not enough. It's when they receive more respect than the majority. A person that advocates respect for the rights of the majority becomes a target for bullying. This Confederate guy confirms it".
"The guy with the flag", as Americans call Armentrout basically stood up for traditional values, and the Russian context is logical. But there was no adequate response. Memorials are still getting destroyed, and crowdfunding platforms where Allen was gathering money for college are now gathering money to teach African-Americans how to handle firearms. Doesn't seem so tolerant to me.
- That was Anton Podkovenko, talking about the call for justice.
