A favorable forecast for Russia for 2018. The European Union may lift sanctions against our country. This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov.

According to him, in order to "reverse the course of events, the European Union needs to accumulate enough political will". So far, this will was enough for Brussels to extend the restrictive economic measures against Moscow in mid-December.

 

Summarizing the outgoing year, Vladimir Chizhov said that the main achievement of Russian diplomacy was the stabilization of the situation in Syria and the defeat of the forces of international terrorism in the Arab Republic.

Next year, as the diplomat stressed, the main task for our country is ensuring national security.
