"Forget About Russian Gaz!" - Gazprom Boss to Kiev

"Forget About Russian Gaz!" - Gazprom Boss to Kiev

We’ll begin the next topic with a photo. Saturday, Kiev downtown, right near the Verkhovnaya Rada. Frost, knee-deep snow, and fresh blood on it.

- Call a doctor!

- Help me!

It’s not about politics anymore. This is a disaster. The police are dispersing another spontaneous Maidan. People are growling.

Next, there’ll be reports of injuries and TBIs. Huddled together, desperately and hopelessly, without any support from the U.S. or any other external ally, they’re protesting against Petro Poroshenko.

He became President as a result of a bloody coup, the shooting of his own people in the Euromaidan four years ago. As a result, Ukraine is suffering from poverty and the civil war. Poroshenko’s popularity rating is about 7 percent. But Poroshenko is in power and continues to rule. Just like this.

Meanwhile, Europe is too embarrassed to say anything. It doesn’t help with money either but wants Moscow to sponsor Kiev again. This week, the Stockholm Arbitration Court made a decision regarding the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, according to which, in the end, Gazprom had to pay Naftogaz 2.5 billion dollars.

The head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, was quite blunt.

"We're totally against solving Ukraine's economic problems at our expense. In such a situation, prolongation of contracts is economically inexpedient and unprofitable for Gazprom".

We’re talking about contracts with Ukraine for the supply of Russian gas and its transit. The Stockholm Arbitration Court has already begun the procedure for their termination. As a rule, contracts always provide for this. The process can take a year, but Gazprom is certainly acting in its own right.

At the same time, Gazprom has already refused to resume gas supplies to Ukraine starting March 1. As stated, Kiev's deposit was refunded.
