Was Kemerovo a Terrorist Attack? Putin Instructs Medvedev to Check Security of Russia’s Malls
Vladimir Putin instructed the head of the Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin to check all versions of the fire in Kemerovo.

Vladimir Putin instructed the head of the Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin to check all versions of the fire in Kemerovo. As the President said: "The version of some intruders is very convenient for current suspects". The head of the state stressed that if any version is confirmed, it should be justified by expertise.

Earlier, the president instructed Dmitry Medvedev to check the security of the country's shopping centers. He did this at a meeting on economic issues. Before the beginning of the meeting, the participants honored the memory of those killed in Kemerovo with a minute of silence.

Vladimir Putin: "In Kemerovo, a great tragedy occurred on March 25. Several dozens of people were lost, many children. Therefore, before I begin the meeting, I propose to honor them with a minute of silence.

We talked about this. And I talked with my colleagues in Kemerovo. We need to look at the activities of entertainment shopping centers of this kind. This should not become chaotic, but security must be ensured. It is quite obvious that we should also look at the current legislation. It is clear that we won't change the rules relating to the liberalization in the sphere of economy. But the current regulatory framework gives us now the opportunity to do everything to ensure the safety of people. But, we need to look more closely if there is something missing. And then, after consulting with business associations and after analyzing the materials we need to make a decision".

Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister: "We'll look at everything, Mr.President, analyze the current regulatory framework and submit proposals".

Vladimir Putin: "If it is necessary, then, of course, you should help the families of the killed and the victims. The regional authorities will do everything necessary. But I repeat once again — if they will need help from the federal center, I ask you to pay attention to this and do everything necessary by the federal government".

Dmitry Medvedev: "A number of decisions have already been taken. We'll see what else we can do".
