Russia’s MoD Holds Exhibition to Show Off War Trophies From Syria - Trump’s "Smart" Missiles on Display

Russia's Ministry of Defense doesn't hold exhibitions often. Training drills? Sure. A parade? Sure. Even track and field meets. However, exhibitions are few and far between. Our military establishment is just not a fan. But, it's time. On Wednesday, journalists were invited to such an event to see some bullet-ridden enemy missiles, the 'nice and new and smart' ones that Trump was so proud of.
Now, these garbage weapons, complete with serial numbers and manufacturer's markings look 'old, bad, and stupid.' Everything was collected this week in Syria after the shameful and useless missile attack by the US, the UK, and France, which was a response to an imaginary chemical attack near Damascus. The absurdity of this scheme was unknowingly revealed by the Americans themselves. The US military announced that the missiles had destroyed the Barza chemical lab near Damascus and the Khim Shinshar chemical weapon storage facility in Holmes. The Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Sergey Rudskoy, was delicately surprised.
Sergey Rudskoy: "At the same time, the US, the UK, and France's military and political leaders' logic in selecting these sites as strike targets is unclear. If, according to them, there really were stores of chemical agents there, then mass contamination should've occurred after the cruise missile strikes. In the case of Damascus, tens of thousands of people would've died".
Since there had been no contamination at the site of the missile strikes, it means they were shooting for no reason. It's hard for the Americans, the Brits, and the French to admit this. They simply don't comment on the lack of contamination after the missile strike. They refuse to do it, cockily repeating that they were shooting where they had to, hitting all their targets.
However, anyone who's ever tried to hit a target, even from an air rifle at a shooting range in a park, knows that after you've fired, it's always fun to remove the paper target and simply count the bullet holes to see how many had hit the bullseye or close to it, how many were off the mark, and how many were off by a mile. It's the same with missiles. The targets, announced by the US, were thoroughly studied on-location by the Russian MOD.
Sergey Rudskoy: "The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has conducted a detailed analysis of the strikes' aftermath. The collected missile fragments, shell craters, and the level of destruction of the sites led us to the conclusion that out of 105 announced hits near the targets' locations, no more than 22 had actually been confirmed".
Did you hear how Rudskoy said 'hit near the targets' instead of 'hit the targets'? The only sites that were destroyed were some maintenance buildings that had nothing to do with the Syrian military. Thus, all their strikes had missed their targets. Eric Pahon, a Pentagon official, still insists that all the strikes were precise, calling Russia's allegations 'a misinformation campaign.' He's a grown man, but he's throwing a bit of a tantrum. We showed him the holes in the US missiles, but he still denies everything.
High-ranking US generals hide behind this Eric Pahon character. Trump says that he called someone, we wonder who, and they told him that all the missiles had hit their targets, none of them had been intercepted by the Syrians, who had apparently missed. That phone call made Trump very happy.
Donald Trump, the US President: "Then I called them and asked, 'Did they really intercept them?' They said, 'No, sir, all the missiles have reached their targets, none had been intercepted. This is genius".
By the way, Trump's birthday is coming up. There's still time to put some of this trash in bags and mail it to the White House as his birthday present. The most precious gifts are educational ones, the ones that enrich our view of the world. Trump can arrange these souvenirs on his table, invite the whole gang, including his best buddy John Bolton along with a few generals, and they can all attend the traveling exhibit arranged by the Russian MOD. I think that our American journalist colleagues would also be very interested in seeing the exhibit. And we definitely do have something to show them.
Sergey Rudskoy: "The missile fragments that were found at the interception locations have distinctive shell holes which were made by shrapnel from the surface-to-air missiles' warheads. Kits and components have visible serial numbers, manufacturer information such as production dates and other data. The experts will be able to easily identify these fragments' origin. You can see some of them in this showcase".
Some of their 'smart' missiles had crashed before even reaching the targets, without even exploding. Some of them were also shown to the journalists. These probably shouldn't be mailed to the US, Moscow needs these exhibits more.
Sergey Rudskoy: "Some missiles never made it to their targets, most likely due to technical problems, thus posting a threat to civilian areas and civilian lives. Two of them, including a Tomahawk cruise missile and a precision-guided air-to-surface missile, were delivered to Moscow. You can see this Tomahawk's warhead on this slide".
It's important to note that this blatant act of aggression involving missile attacks by three countries was successfully foiled exclusively by the Syrians themselves without any help from our military. Upon the agreement with the US, the missiles never entered the Russian air defense systems' zones, as promised. What's interesting is that the Syrians defended themselves with legacy weapon systems dating back to the Soviet period.
Sergey Rudskoy: "I'd like to note that most of the high-precision weapons were destroyed by Soviet-made air defense systems which were manufactured 40 years ago. That's the S-125, the Osa (Bee), and the Kvadrat (Square)".
This basically paints the full picture. I'd like to remind you that there were absolutely no casualties from that missile strike in Syria. No military equipment had suffered, either. After this experience, Syria's air defense will become significantly stronger.
However, even after the MOD's exhibition of all those US missiles filled with shrapnel holes, and even after our military correspondent, Evgeny Poddubny, had located Syrians that were forced to participate in the filming of some fake footage, forced to play the role of victims of a fictional chemical attack in Douma, near Damascus, the West still continues singing the same old song. Mainly, I'm talking about the politicians, the military, and the journalists. It seems that they don't really care about the bullet-ridden metal in all its beauty, or about the live witnesses, but about fake videos on the Internet. Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon's response to the presented bullet-ridden fragments, calling it all 'untrue.' Peter Wilson, the UK Ambassador to the OPCW, called the arrival of live Syrian witnesses at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague a 'masquerade.' He openly refuses to even hear them out, saying that the OPCW is no place for theatrics. The Head of UK diplomacy, Boris Johnson, had already been caught telling a blatant lie.
Boris Johnson's employees shamelessly follow his lead, as does the vaunted UK media. This is a headline from The Sunday Times: 'Obscene masquerade.' And here's The Guardian with the same 'Obscene masquerade'. Very original, aren't they?
