Here's some more good news.

In the Irkutsk region, the final tests of Russia's newest light-engine aircraft are taking place. The working name of the airplane is TVS-2DTS. Its main task is the delivery of passengers from regional centers to remote villages and settlements. The plane will replace the legendary An-2 Kukuruznik.

This aircraft has a range of five thousand kilometers. It can land on any surface, including water, and it isn't afraid of even the harshest climate. The engine can run on ordinary aviation kerosene, and most parts of the fuselage are made of carbon. This material is commonly used for manufacturing lightweight and durable parts for sports cars. Mass production of the TVS-2DTS will begin at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant next year. A more mellifluous name will probably appear with time.
