BREAKING: Putin Charters Russia’s Course Into the Future in his 3rd Term’s Last Presidential Address

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin:

Dear Russian citizens, esteemed members of the Federation Council, and State Duma deputies, today's statement marks a special milestone, just like the time we live in, when our choices, our every step, and every action are crucially important because they determine the future of our country for decades ahead. It's these pivotal moments when Russia has always proved its ability to develop and renew. We reclaimed lands, built cities conquered space, and made great discoveries.

 

We're always focused on our future. The combination of our traditions and values ensured the continuity of our millennia-old history. We underwent some complex large-scale changes. We faced new and extremely difficult economic and social challenges. We preserved our unity. We built a democratic society, paving our free and independent way. We ensured stability and consistency in nearly all spheres of our lives and this plays a major role in our huge multinational country with a complex federal structure and cultural diversity, with our memory of historical crises, and the toughest challenges Russia had to face.

However, stability is our basis but it doesn't guarantee further development. We can't let our hard-won stability become self-complacency. Moreover, many issues are far from being solved.

Today, Russia is one of the leading powers with a huge export and military potential. But if we speak about our imperative — ensuring the quality of life and well-being of our people we haven't yet reached the required level. But we must do that and we will.
